# Trace a claim back to its answer

> Go from a Perception claim to the AI answer and source, then confirm or dispute it.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Goal:** Trace a claim to the question, the answer, and the source before you confirm or dispute it.
>
> **Who it's for:** People who need the exact words behind a Perception summary.
>
> **Video:** About 41 seconds.

## Before you start

Open a Perception subject with evidence to review. Have a reliable source ready if you need to confirm or dispute a claim.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The video uses an example Project. Review the question, answer and source before confirming a claim. Your review is a record of your judgment, and is distinct from an independently verified error.

## Steps

**1. Start from the exact words**

Sometimes you need the exact words. Here's how to trace a claim back to the answer it came from.

**2. Open Claims from the overview**

Overview gives you the score and how each engine sees you. Then open Claims to read the actual sentences.

**3. Open the related answer**

Answers shows each question and how every engine replied. Open one to read the full answer and the sources it linked.

**4. Confirm or dispute after review**

Back in Claims, confirm or dispute a claim only after you've read it. This records your review; it does not independently verify the claim.

**5. Check the Question library**

Question library shows the questions behind all this. Changing them changes future answers.

## Expected result

You have opened the related answer, checked the AI Platform, question, and cited sources, and confirmed or disputed the claim only after that review.

> Sign in first. Then open your Project and go to Perception. Explore Perception evidence.

## If you get stuck

If the evidence is incomplete, inspect the original answer and source before changing the status. Recording a review does not change an AI answer by itself.
